Completeness.

Obedience to fear. I am guilty. Not maliciously, but from a lack of confidence in My God’s complete goodness.

Think of yourselves the way Christ Jesus thought of himself. He had equal status with God but didn’t think so much of himself that he had to cling to the advantages of that status no matter what. Not at all. When the time came, he set aside the privileges of deity and took on the status of a slave, became human! Having become human, he stayed human. It was an incredibly humbling process. He didn’t claim special privileges. Instead, he lived a selfless, obedient life and then died a selfless, obedient death—and the worst kind of death at that—a crucifixion.” -‭‭Philippians‬ ‭2:5-8‬ ‭MSG‬

Jesus knew God’s completeness was and is wholly and holy Good. He knew and trusted that no matter what… absolutely no matter what, God’s plan, God Himself, was perfect Love… and still is. I know the world has ruined the word obedience, but obedience to the perfect will of a God of perfect Love – letting self and feelings and fear take a back seat as he leads us into Glory is the way to Freedom – real and complete. Lord, make it so. Let our lives be lived in the Freedom of obedience to your complete and perfect Love. Amen.

Art: This is throwback art from a really old sketchbook of mine. But I remember drawing this picture with a heart of freedom – quickly and simply for the joy of drawing… playfully. It makes my heart smile when I look at it. It reminds me of simplicity… which reminds me of the joy of being His.
