Walk in the Light.

John 12:36 Put your trust in the light while there is still time, then you will become children of the light.

I’m blessed with the privilege of teaching children about Jesus. This morning, a few kids and I were working on a little melody to put with this specific verse. After playing around and discussing for a few minutes, a little, five-year-old girl asked, “How do you walk in the light?”

I love good questions. It means the Holy Spirit is very near to the heart seeking to reveal Himself… and they are listening! 🙂

My response: Seek Jesus no matter what, He is the light. Learn a little about Him every day. Ask your mom or dad to tell you something about Jesus every day – or have your older sister read a few bible verses with you every day (to which the older sister agreed) so that you can know Jesus better and better. Today I’m going to give you one thing to know about Jesus; He is kind. Simply try to know Him better everyday.

I love the simplicity of teaching children; it has a way of wading past our complicated-adult-humanness and reminds me how simple Life really is supposed to be… Walk in the light, get to know Jesus, get to know Our Creator and then and only then will you be able to let Him lead. We can trust Him, but we must know who we are trusting first. He came down and showed us what kind of God He is in Christ Jesus, a beautiful gift.  Every good and perfect gift is from above. James 1:17.

My Lord, I find that nothing else will do,

But follow where thou goest, sit at thy feet,

And where I have thee not, still run to meet.

Roses are scentless, hopeless are the morns,

Rest is but weakness, laughter crackling thorns,

If thou, the Truth, do not make them the true:

Thou art my life, O Christ, and nothing else will do.
