Mirage?

1 John 2:14 “Your fellowship with God enables you to gain a victory over the Evil One.”

In the story I was reading last night, there came a point when two good wizards were facing off against two evil wizards. There was a third apprentice wizard on good’s team, but she was inexperienced and unable to battle in the same manner. However, as she watched and moved, she discovered the good guys were only battling the illusion of the two villains – meanwhile, the actual villains snuck up behind them and disarmed them before they could be warned.

This is our story too. The sooner we can realize and embrace that it is only our fellowship with God that can truly destroy the actual villain, the less time we will spend battling the illusion of evil. Let us cut evil down at the root! “This is for keeps, a life-or-death fight to the finish against the Devil and all his angels. Be prepared. You’re up against far more than you can handle on your own. Take all the help you can get, every weapon God has issued, so that when it’s all over but the shouting you’ll still be on your fee. Truth, righteousness, peace, faith, and salvation are more than words. Learn how to apply them!” Ephesians 6:12-14

It is our fellowship with God that destroys evil. Being His, each one of us making that choice. Let us stop fighting the illusion of evil, meaning fighting to be right about everything and surrender into the arms of a Sovereign God of Love so that we can be His and Love like Him and truly light up this world… banishing evil and darkness. Amen.
