Something Good…

If we can believe what Jesus said about God being the only Good (Mark 10:17-18), wouldn’t it stand to reason then, that if we want to ask for something Good (for ourselves or for others), we would ask for more God?… Like Jesus advises in Luke 11:10-13 (msg):

“Don’t bargain with God. Be direct. Ask for what you need. This is not a cat-and-mouse, hide-and-seek game we’re in. If your little boy asks for a serving of fish, do you scare him with a live snake on his plate? If your little girl asks for an egg, do you trick her with a spider? As bad as you are, you wouldn’t think of such a thing—you’re at least decent to your own children. And don’t you think the Father who conceived you in love will give the Holy Spirit when you ask him?”

So let us start asking for something worth asking for, something Good… the Only Good… and then let go and trust His Goodness.

Lord, send the Holy Spirit so that I may see with Your eyes, eyes of perfect Love – not the broken love of this world. I need more and more of You. Jesus said, “What can I do for you?” The blind man said, “Rabbi, I want to see.” -Mark 10:50 (msg) Lord, I too want to see, but I want to see like You… made holy before You as long as I live. (From Zechariah’s Prophecy in Luke). Amen.
