The Work is the Outpouring.

James says, “Talk and act like a person expecting to be judged by the Rule that sets us free.” -James 2:17 (msg)

Love is the rule. Love is what frees us, our God’s Holy and Perfect Love. Jesus’ final commandment was simply to Love like He has Loved. We are asked to, ‘talk and act like a person’ expecting to be judged by a Holy and Perfect Love. Impossible or beautiful?

He tells us in the next verse: “…You can no more show me your works apart from your faith than I can show you my faith apart from my works. Faith and works, works and faith, fit together hand in glove.” -James 2:18 (msg)

It’s beautiful. Faith and Acts, or Works, are yoked together; they can not be separated. The Work is the outpouring of our Faith, Jesus Christ (God’s Love), manifested in our earthly flesh. I made a jump right there between Faith and Love, but if we clear our minds and focus on Him, I believe we can see that Faith is Love. Perfect Faith brings an outpouring of Perfect Love because Perfect Faith looks fully into the eyes of Him who is Perfect Love and says, ‘You are enough. Your Grace is sufficient.

What a freedom! We look into the eyes of Love so that it may manifest and pour out into this world. John 7:37-38 (msg) Jesus cried out, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink. Rivers of living water will brim and spill out of the depths of anyone who believes in me this way…”

Oswald Chambers stated, “If you want to be of use to God, maintain the proper relationship with Jesus Christ by staying focused on Him, and He will make use of you every minute you live – yet you will be unaware, on the conscious level of your life, that you are being used of Him.”

Lord, teach us to live fully in your Love. Amen.
