Don’t Settle for Lesser.

1 John 2:2 (msg) When Jesus served as a sacrifice for our sins, he solved the sin problem for good – not only ours, but the whole world’s.

Then why is evil so prevalent? Because, that is what we choose. It is our “fellowship with God that enables us to gain a victory over the Evil One.” (2:14) Apart from Him we are dead in sin. Jesus showed us and created a way for us to become One with the Father again through His sacrifice on the cross and the power of the Holy Spirit. We can fellowship with the CREATOR of the UNIVERSE!! – Now, doesn’t that give us a different perspective on our worries. Ecclesiastes seems very relevant here; I encourage you to go read it if you have not or even if you have. 🙂

Don’t love the world’s ways. Don’t love the world’s goods. Love of the world squeezes out love for the Father. Practically everything that goes on in the world—wanting your own way, wanting everything for yourself, wanting to appear important—has nothing to do with the Father. It just isolates you from him. The world and all its wanting, wanting, wanting is on the way out—but whoever does what God wants is set for eternity. (2:15-17)

Lord, help us to not squeeze you, the Eternal, out for a much lesser trade, the world. Thank you for loving us so completely and never giving up on us. Amen.
