Quit the Bickering.
John 6:43 Jesus said, “Don’t bicker among yourselves over me. You’re not in charge here. The Father who sent me is in charge.“
When I read this, I very much feel like a child, staring at a teacher and knowing I too am guilty. But I don’t picture Jesus saying this to me to condemn me, just like I don’t truly believe He was trying to condemn the Pharisees, as they are also God’s children – He simply wants more for them… and He wants more for you and me. He wants us to let go of what we think we know, let go of control, and let go of this world so that we may be His… fully His… Jesus has come to bring Life. As His Church, let us stop bickering, we are not in charge! – and Praise God that we aren’t! Yes, even us teachers and preachers… and Pharisees 🙂 – we are not in charge – we are hear to share the Gospel, the gift of Life.
It is so exciting to think about God coming to earth just because He loves us, simply to reveal Himself more fully to us and show us a way back to Life, back to Him.
Today, I pray we encourage each other to rest in Who is Good. That instead of making those around us feel like they are lacking, we remind each other that we are complete in Him, which is Life and Life abundant. The tornado of this world spins steady, and “the thief’s purpose is to lie, steal, kill, and destroy” but!!!! “Jesus came so we may have real and eternal life, more and better life than we ever dreamed of.” -John 10:10
