Resisting Evil.
Jude 1:9 But even Michael, one of the mightiest of the angels, did not dare accuse the devil of blasphemy, but simply said, “The Lord rebuke you!”
The book of Jude is a short letter about the dangers of false teachers or essentially being tricked into believing an evil is Good. We are to remain faithful to the Lord and show mercy “but do so with great caution, hating the sins that contaminate their lives.” -Jude 1:23
The letter closes: Jude 1:24 Now all glory to God, who is able to keep you from falling away and will bring you with great joy into his glorious presence without a single fault.
Can I get an Amen! 🙂 Allow me to sum up – to resist evil we simply call on the Lord to rebuke that which is not Good. Not even one of God’s mightiest angels, Michael, went at the devil alone. He called on the Lord to rebuke evil. And as we allow God to fight and trust His ways are Good, we show mercy… without becoming part of the storm… this is where our humanness creates much ‘gray’ area. BUT! If we keep our eyes on Him and our hearts surrendered, “God, who is able to keep you from falling away – will bring you to great joy – without a single fault!”
This is indeed glorious news!… without a single fault! Keep in mind, I’m still not referring to worldly perfection – I’m referring to complete surrender to He who is Good and perfect and without fault.
It’s a good day to be His.
