No Need to Wait.
John 11:24-26 (MSG) Martha replied, “I know that he will be raised up in the resurrection at the end of time.”
“You don’t have to wait for the End. I am, right now, Resurrection and Life. The one who believes in me, even though he or she dies, will live. And everyone who lives believing in me does not ultimately die at all. Do you believe this?”
Sometimes I feel like God asks too much of me — to be completely free. But, oh how I desire it; not just for freedom sake but for His Glory and Kingdom and to be His. It’s like learning to ride a bike or swim for the first time – a feeling of weightlessness combined with wanting to hold onto something or put my feet down – but if I don’t keep trying to let go, I will never learn.
I do know this. With every act of obedience to Him, with every breath I claim for Him, I begin to see Him more clearly. So my act of letting go isn’t merely an act of faith, but an act of trusting the God I have grown to know and love. The God whose face is made so clear in the love of Jesus.
We don’t have to wait for life.. “I came so they can have real and eternal life, more and better life than they ever dreamed of. I am the Good Shepherd. The Good Shepherd puts the sheep before Himself, sacrifices himself if necessary.” – John 10:10-11
Today, I listen for the voice of the Good Shepherd. I pray for the strength and the courage to obey so that I may more fully know My Creator and be His… I don’t have to wait. His promise is for today.
