The Chosen. Season One. Short Reflection.

I pray you all enjoyed watching the final episode of The Chosen together as a family. We discussed a little at school as we finished a few of the episodes, in particular after episode seven because the children were starting to see the character of Jesus and his disciples really start to come to life. This is a beautiful gift.

One common reaction was, “I wish season two was ready”. I can honestly say, me too… However, I believe our true yearning for another season is really our yearning for more of God. While ‘The Chosen’ does a great job telling the story of Jesus, let us not glorify the show, but our Heavenly Father who truly gave His Son to save us. I pray we use that energy and desire to draw closer to God.

“We did not choose Him, He chose us.” -Jacob.

He chose us and He asks us to show mercy. He sees us and He calls us to Him.

Our decision to follow Jesus, even now, is not an act of reason, but an act of faith. We may have to give certain things up, but what we gain is unmeasurable and eternal.

We truly have been given a Savior… it’s not just a show… let us never forget this and let us live like we know it to be true!

May God’s peace that transcends all human understanding guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. Amen.
