Truth and Silence.
Live Truth. It makes words much less necessary.
Jesus was placed before the governor, who questioned him: “Are you the ‘King of the Jews’?” Jesus said, “If you say so.” But when the accusations rained down hot and heavy from the high priests and religious leaders, he said nothing. Pilate asked him, “Do you hear that long list of accusations? Aren’t you going to say something?” Jesus kept silence—not a word from his mouth. The governor was impressed, really impressed. -Matthew 27:11-14 (msg)
When we find ourselves thinking we need to vindicate our actions and explain our reasoning, I would consider that a sign that we are not walking in Truth. This continues to humble me, but in the same breath, it frees me. Walk in Truth – Live Truth – let the judgements of this world fall noiselessly into nothing. God’s got this. Trust Him. Let our next choice, and every choice after that, be for Him and let the chips fall as He is working for our Good and His Glory.
