What’s Next.

“Oh how sweet the light of day, and how wonderful to live in the sunshine! Even if you live a long time, don’t take a single day for granted. Take delight in each light-filled hour, remembering that there will also be many dark days and that most of what comes your way is smoke.

“You who are young, make the most of your youth. Relish your youthful vigor. Follow the impulses of your heart. If something looks good to you, pursue it. But know also that not just anything goes; you have to answer to God for every last bit of it.

“Live footloose and fancy-free– you won’t be young forever. Youth lasts about as long as smoke.

“Honor and enjoy your Creator while you’re still young, before the years take their toll and your vigor wanes, before your vision dims and world blurs and the winter years keep you close to the fire.” -Ecclesiastes 11:7-10

So much time wasted lost in ourselves! So much smoke. Honor and enjoy your Creator while you’re still young. Following the impulses of our heart in Him – while we are still young! Live, really Live while we are still young and able, not for ourselves, but to enjoy our Creator… the Star-breathing One; this broadens the possibilities of what lies ahead! Instead of asking ‘what do I want to do with the rest of my life’, we can look to the Lord with an expectant, “What’s next Papa?” -Romans 8:16

“So don’t you see that we don’t owe this old do-it-yourself life one red cent. There’s nothing in it for us, nothing at all. The best thing to do is give it a decent burial and get on with your new life. God’s Spirit beckons. There are things to do and places to go! This resurrection life you received from God is not a timid, grave-tending life. It’s adventurously expectant, greeting God with a childlike ‘What’s next, Papa?’ God’s Spirit touches our spirits and confirms who we really are. We know who he is, and we know who we are: Father and children. And we know we are going to get what’s coming to us – an unbelievable inheritance! We go through exactly what Christ goes through. If we go through the hard times with him, then we’re certainly going to go through the good times with Him! -Romans 8:15-17

Sure, not every moment will be easy, but every moment can be Alive with Him… and because He is Who He is, and He loves revealing Himself to each one of us if we only ask – we can trust His Love and ask expectantly, “What’s next, Papa?
