“Everything you need is to be found in me. If you want to live well, make sure you understand all of this. If you know what’s good for you, you’ll learn this inside and out. God’s paths get you where you want to go. Right living people walk them easily; wrong-living people are always tripping and stumbling.” -Hosea 14:8-9

I realize our temptation to turn this into something about how ‘if we live right, we will prosper physically,’ but I am convinced that if we count Him as Everything, The Everything, we will just hold the physical more lightly in our hands, letting the physical go more easily. This does not come natural to our broken nature, to trust the Almighty with our lives, all the pieces and people; this is why Jesus is such an incredible Gift. A new nature is offered to us through Him, so that we can walk in the newness of Life. He can be our Everything once again – and we can know Life, Eternal and Good.
