Our Everything.

The day we realize that He is Truly and Completely our All in All – the day we realize we are nothing without Him… that every longing we have ever had has One and Only One Fullfillment… If anyone is thirsty, let him come to Me and drink! -Jesus… This is a Good day.

Do you feel like a lowly worm, Jacob? Don’t be afraid. Feel like a fragile insect, Israel? I’ll help you. I, God, want to reassure you. The God who buys you back, The holy of Israel. I’m transforming you from worm to harrow, from insect to iron… The poor and homeless are desperate for water, their tongues parched and no water to be found. But I’m there to be found, I’m there for them, and I God of Israel, will not leave them thirsty. -Isaiah 41 msg

Now on the last and most important day of the feast, Jesus stood and called out [in a loud voice], “If anyone is thirsty, let him come to Me and drink! He who believes in Me [who adheres to, trusts in, and relies on Me], as the scripture has said, ‘From his innermost being will flow continually rivers of living water.’ “ -John 7:37-38 (amp)

What if our most prized possession cannot be bought or sold or taken from us or even seen? What if in our lowly nature, we cling to Him instead of despairing or trying to fix it on our own? What if He is our Everything? Filling our innermost being with His Spirit, perfectly Good, fully redeeming us… Transforming and Satisfying our deepest longings.. completing us in Him.

What will happen then? We would become Living Love. No longer hurting each other, comparing, competing, toiling, judging, reacting in fear, trying to fill our longings with all that will not last. We would be One with Love. Trusting Him Fully. This is His promise of Redemption for us! To bring us back into Love. This is Good News.

Lord, thank you for revealing my lowliness. With eyes toward You, send your Living Water so that I may cling to what is Good and let go of my much lesser ways. Save me from my unbelief. Amen.
