Sheltered by God’s Promises.
“Blessed [content, sheltered by God’s promises] are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.” -Matthew 5:7
Think about our hearts being sheltered in God’s promises. Living in a broken world while being completely secure in Who He is. Trusting above and beyond anything else that He is Sovereign and He is Good and He desires to bring us home into Him where all is Right and Good… “and He who sits on the throne will spread His tabernacle over them and shelter and protect them [with His presence]. They will hunger no longer, nor thirst anymore; nor will the sun beat down on them, nor any [scorching] heat;” – Revelation 7
…and because we are content and sheltered in God’s promises, we will be merciful, because we will be freed from our own reactions that stem from a heart not sheltered by God’s promises. Our heart will no longer be vulnerable to the broken world because it is solely/souly focused on The Surety of Him. We will be able to See as He Sees; The One who is greater than every government, every army, every ugliness, every selfishness, and He will redeem every piece of our lives we give to Him. (Do not worry because of evildoers. Psalm 17:1). Yes. I want my heart sheltered in His promises… I long to be merciful.
