My Commitment to My People.

“ ‘And this is my commitment to my people: removal of their sins.’ From your point of view as you hear and embrace the good news of the Message, it looks like the Jews are God’s enemies. But looked at from the long-range perspective of God’s overall purpose, they remain God’s oldest friends. God’s gifts and God’s call are under full warranty –– never canceled, never rescinded.” -From Romans 11:25-29 (msg)

He’s never giving up on us. Talk about a reminder that we can never hear too often. His commitment to His people is removal of their sins.

I have really come to believe that the less we know God, the more we want our way, and the more we know God, the less we want our way.

All around us we can see the tragedy that is human kind in the fight for self – but if we look closely and we allow God to have His way with us, we begin to see His conquering Providence pursuing us, working in us, and making us New… making us His… making us Alive… teaching us what Love really means… and we begin to no longer think our way, self, is so great… and we can begin to understand what Paul was referring to in Romans 11 when he said: …it looks like the Jews are God’s enemies. But looked at from the long-range perspective of God’s overall purpose, they remain God’s oldest friends…

Only a Really Good Friend would be willing to put up with a seemingly endless supply of selfishness and then when it seemed it couldn’t get any worse, offer up His life in our place. This is Love. The Love. A love that never quits… never cancelled, never rescinded.

This is Good News.
