Surety.

There is a deep pendulation that occurs in our being when we lose focus on God’s Surety. We become very opinionated and judgmental, hard in our self-righteousness instead of softened in His Righteousness, forgiving because we are all saved by the same Grace. Now God has us where he wants us, with all the time in this world and the next to shower grace and kindness upon us in Christ Jesus. Saving is all his idea, and all his work. All we do is trust him enough to let him do it. It’s God’s gift from start to finish! We don’t play the major role. If we did, we’d probably go around bragging that we’d done the whole thing! No, we neither make nor save ourselves. God does both the making and saving. He creates each of us by Christ Jesus to join him in the work he does, the good work he has gotten ready for us to do, work we had better be doing.(Ephesians‬ ‭2:7-10‬ msg)

When we focus on the output of this Surety in our lives instead of Surety Himself, we create our own obstacles. We will err as humans and then spend hours ping-ponging these errs, along with everyone else’s errs, around in our mind completely taking our heart and mind off of He who is Surety, and despite our good intentions, this will not output Good.

It is the Surety, His Promise – Him Alone – His Absolute Perfect Completeness and Perfect Love, that holds all the power… the power to save, the power to make Good out of bad, the power to love the unloveable, the power to do anything of eternal value, the power to keep us steadfast in Him!

What an incredible promise: His promise to reunite us so completely with Him that we are Perfectly Steadfast in Him, the Creator and Father of all that is Good.

Remain in me, and I will remain in you. For a branch cannot produce fruit if it is severed from the vine, and you cannot be fruitful unless you remain in me. Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing. -John‬ ‭15:4-5‬ (nlt)
