When they were together for the last time they asked, “Master, are you going to restore the kingdom to Israel now? Is this the time?” He told them, “You don’t get to know the time. Timing is the Father’s business. What you’ll get is the Holy Spirit. And when the Holy Spirit comes on you, you will be able to be my witnesses in Jerusalem, all over Judea and Samaria, even to the ends of the world.” -Acts‬ ‭1:6-8 (msg)

What does Jesus tell the ones He loves when they won’t stop worrying about the world’s brokenness? He reassures them that God has got this and that the Holy Spirit will help them understand something…

Jesus doesn’t try and explain or dismiss the disciples – He simply points again to the Father… and reminds them again of the Helper, knowing they will be able to understand something soon that they are incapable of understanding without His Spirit. This Journey, this Life, is about something so much Greater than the physical. I don’t think any of us can be reminded of this enough.
