Steep your life in God-reality, God-initiative, God-provisions. Don’t worry about missing out. You’ll find all your everyday human concerns will be met. Give your entire attention to what God is doing right now, and don’t get worked up about what may or may not happen tomorrow. God will help you deal with whatever hard things come up when the time comes. -Matthew 6:33-34

My inner tea-drinker loves the metaphor of steeping, submerging my life in God until I become completely saturated with Him, and we become One that can no longer be separated. Even when the ‘old bag’ is removed, it won’t matter because all of my value/flavor is still with Him. Throw away the old bag I say! 🙂 Lol. What a promise though! These are Jesus’ words. The simplicity of what we are being asked: Keep our entire attention on God and don’t get worked up about tomorrow. God will help us deal with tomorrow when it comes.

Worry is really an odd thing… what if when we find ourselves in a state of worry, we were to ask ourselves, “What, in this very moment, this very second, am I afraid of?” I truly believe if we stopped long enough to ask this question, we would find that most, if not all, of our worries have something to do with the future, pulling us from the present… wanting to figure something out so we have an answer for all time – but! Jesus is saying, I am the answer for all time… stay connected to me… give me your entire attention and I will take you through All Time. 

Steep your Life in me! I will keep all that is worth keeping perfectly safe… not only safe, but with Me, you will come Alive.
