Jesus said, “Please, give me a little water to drink.” -John 4:7

I keep coming back to Jesus’ request to the woman coming to the well to draw water. She had a bucket to draw water and a well full of water… one could say that she had everything she needed to fulfill Jesus’ request, but she doesn’t. She starts asking questions about cultural and religious differences and gets sidetracked. Jesus eventually points her back to Him. I can’t help but be reminded of our humanness to make everything super complicated, and in doing so, miss the point all together. Praise be that when we do this, Jesus never gets sidetracked or gives up on us. 

I just want to encourage all of us today to not make it complicated. Give Jesus the glass of water and then sit and chat with Him and enjoy it together.
