An Act of Faith.
By an act of faith, Abel brought a better sacrifice to God than Cain. It was what he believed, not what he brought, that made the difference. That’s what God noticed and approved as righteous. After all these centuries, that belief continues to catch our notice. -Hebrews 11:4 (msg)
The Way may be narrow but it is firm! Our faith is not blind; true faith comes from knowing God and then making our choices because we trust Him… Yes, He will inevitably lead us into situations where we have to trust Him blindly – not knowing the outcome, but it is not so blind if we know the One leading. Abel gave God his best because Abel knew God. He did what God asked Him to do, and He knew that if God asked him to do it, it was Good and would bring Good results. He didn’t necessarily know what the results would be, but like Abel, we don’t have to know the results if we know God. I choose God because I know God. I don’t want less than Good… I won’t settle for less than Him because I don’t have to.
It’s impossible to please God apart from faith. And Why? Because anyone who wants to approach God must believe both that he exists and that he cares enough to respond to those who seek him. -Hebrews 11:6 (msg)
“Christians have their attitude toward God changed from one of duty to free, loving self-giving because of what Jesus did for us on the cross. So to know how to meditate on and delight in the Bible is the secret to a relationship with God and to life itself.” -Timothy Keller
