Infinite Discovery.
So come on, let’s leave the preschool fingerpainting exercises on Christ and get on with the grand work of art. Grow up in Christ. The basic foundational truths are in place: turning your back on “salvation by self-help” and turning in trust toward God; baptismal instructions; laying on of hands; resurrection of the dead; eternal judgment. God helping us, we’ll stay true to all that. But there’s so much more. Let’s get on with it! -Hebrews 6:1-3 (msg)
“There is so much more.” I have always had a yearning for adventure. When I was a child, I played endlessly outside and inside using my imagination, exploring and making up stories in my head. Lazily, post innocence and pre-frontal-lobe-development, I sought adventure in debauchery only to find that an enormous dead end and quite destructive AND leaving me more empty than before, a complete loss. BUT! When I first began following Jesus, really desiring Him and pursuing Him, much to my surprise, everything else lost its ‘flavor’, its sizzle. He was and is the great adventure I had sought my entire life. You see, He is infinite. As we walk with Him, we will never stop discovering His Goodness, it is endless and without boundaries.
As Paul writes, Grow in Christ. The ‘to do’ list will be taken care of, but there is so so much more. We are truly part of a masterpiece designed and created by God – a breather of stars! This is incredible. Each day unique. Each breath part of Him. There is Freedom and Love and Hope and all those words we love to say – but He wants to make them more than words – He wants to make them our reality, drawing us ever into Him. I love being His.
