The Sky Speaks.
God’s glory is on tour in the skies, God-craft on exhibit across the horizon. Madame Day holds classes every morning, Professor Night lectures each evening. Their words aren’t heard, their voices aren’t recorded, But their silence fills the earth: unspoken truth is spoken everywhere. -Psalm 19:1-4 (msg)
What is the unspoken truth the sky speaks? Perhaps it is my child-like nature that wants to delve into this question and listen to the skies, but I find it a question full of both beauty and possibilities — so I am in!
When I experience a sunrise or sunset, I see glorious beauty available to all who will take the time to look – on display for the rich and poor and good and evil alike. I see infinite creativity as each display is a unique experience. I see a God who is both Beautiful and Good and Great enough to create something so vast in expanse and yet personal in the nature of how it meets each one of us – should we look. Ever-present. Dependable. Even with a dense fog – its power still brightens the darkness and brings warmth… or as it sets – quiets the chaos of the day and brings us rest. The sky speaks of a God who not only cares but is big enough to be counted on.
The psalm continues a few verses down… “That’s how God’s Word vaults across the skies from sunrise to sunset, Melting ice, scorching deserts and warming hearts to faith.” (19:6)
I just want to draw attention to the Truth that warming hearts is put in the same category as scorching deserts… Just think about that for a bit… and then look to the skies.
