Declutter.
But John intervened: “I’m baptizing you here in the river. The main character in this drama, to whom I’m a mere stagehand, will ignite the kingdom life, a fire, the Holy Spirit within you, changing you from the inside out. He’s going to clean house—make a clean sweep of your lives. He’ll place everything true in its proper place before God; everything false he’ll put out with the trash to be burned.” There was a lot more of this—words that gave strength to the people, words that put heart in them. The Message! -Luke 3:16-18 (msg)
He’ll place everything true in it’s proper place before God; everything false he’ll put out with the trash to be burned.
Some days I wonder, when God gets done taking all the ‘trash’ out of my life, what will be left? When I am stripped down to the purest form of what God intended when He created me, what will that look like? I am so excited to find out. And I realize now, the fulfillment of this promise is for today – and every time we let the peripheral fall away and know that God is absolutely and perfectly more than enough, we taste that victory… but one day, we won’t just taste the victory; we will be fully His, pure, simple, whole, and holy; trash gone – clutter burned – Free!
Picture Explanation: While fishing, we found a big rock with a perfect hole straight through. We made a game of sitting back 1-2 yards and tossing rocks through said hole. Yes, it was fun and it was a beautiful day to share with friends who also enjoy the simple. 🙂 (one more pic from the other angle)
