Humility and Fruit. Charli P Shares Some Light.
Five years ago our family did our first mission trip which included singing as a family. Because our kids were VERY young at the time, this was a very humbling experience. But, we also found ourselves incredibly grateful for the opportunity these little churches spattered all over the US offered to us, an opportunity to grow our gifts and share the gospel.
Now, as our children grow, I’m offered a different perspective, and once again I’m grateful to the little country churches, but I’m also thankful for the gift of music and the fruit of the labor of encouraging a child to pursue what is good. This was her idea; she set it up, picked the song, and practiced on her own…
This isn’t about bragging rights – it was a reminder to me how simple it is to be a light. They were so thankful for her gift of music and we were so thankful for the entire experience, a double blessing.
Lord give us the courage and strength to fight for the light – and the wisdom to know when we are off track. For Your Glory. Thank you for your love. Amen.
”The worshipping aspect means that I give back to God the best He has given me and in this way He makes it His and mine for ever.” -Oswald Chambers, Biblical Ethics
