A Gift. John 14:27.
John 14:27 (NLT) I am leaving you with a gift – peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.
I was reminded this week by a dear friend that one of the first doubts satan places on our hearts is God’s love for us.
In our world, it appears such a conflict. Because our God wants what is truly good for us – He has to remove the ‘false goods’. The things that will never produce fruit but only leave us wanting and searching down dead end streets. So he prunes us by removing the waste in our lives, simplifying our life and thoughts – and sometimes we fight against this love until our dying day — other times we acknowledge He is good and we submit welcoming the gifts.
We are reminded once again in John 14:27 that the gifts God has for us are good… peace of mind and heart regardless of circumstance. So we have absolutely no need to be troubled or afraid. This world cannot give us this… not with all the insurance, doctors, medicine, money, and job security in the world – it surpasses all understanding and reason – it is truly a gift.
May His gift fill our mind and heart. Amen.
This was the first run through – jammin for Jesus! The kids and I had been practicing music quite a bit lately… separately – and today their musical journeys crossed paths!
