Cling to the Simple.
John 4:23-24 (MSG/NLT) But the time is coming – it has, in fact, come – when what you’re called will not matter and where you go to worship will not matter. It’s who you are and the way you live that count before God. Your worship must engage your spirit in the pursuit of truth. For God is Spirit, so those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.
This is just one of the many reasons I love Jesus. He restores the simplicity of life. So much of what we do just doesn’t matter – we make everything so complicated. It’s not about what we do, but who we are… whose we are.
I’m not by nature or nurture a lazy person. I enjoy working with my hands and doing chores that bring me outside – I love adventuring outside and being a mom and teaching and music and art. I just wanted to clarify that being His doesn’t always mean a sedentary lifestyle, but what we do isn’t the most important part… and Jesus comes to set the record straight… He is the way to Life and there are no legalities that must be met to receive this gift of Life, but simply pursue Him in Spirit and Truth. Let go of self and cling to Him – cling to the simplicity of having a loving, sovereign Father.
