It’s news I’m most proud to proclaim, this extraordinary Message of God’s powerful plan to rescue everyone who trusts him, starting with the Jews and then right on to everyone else! God’s way of putting people right shows up in the acts of faith, confirming what Scripture has said all along: “The person in right standing before God by trusting Him really lives.” -Romans 1:16-17

Last night I had a dream we were all lured into this place, drawn in by all the people and spectacle and promises of excellence for our children. As the dream went on, we slowly realized we had no freedoms within this place. This place seemed to almost constrict us as we realized we were really quite trapped. We tried to escape. It seemed there was no way out… until we convinced the ‘border guards’ that we could all be free – they didn’t have to be a slave any more than any of us and the constricting power was no match for all of us – so everyone started running until we realized we didn’t have to run… we didn’t have to fear anything. The evil holding us captive was no match for all of us if we weren’t afraid of each other and fighting each other. Then I woke up. 

Sometimes dreams leave me when I wake up, but this one didn’t. And I found myself thinking about how true this dream is in our lives. How we are lured in by the masses into systems that really end up holding us quite captive. Our fears of being lesser or missing out or jealousy or obligation or expectation keep us captive in and to these systems. But we are all equally captive until He is all we need…. No matter what the reason is for being captive… and we keep each other captive and draw each other into captivity by the way we live our lives – by playing the game… BUT! If we truly trust God with our lives, than He becomes all we need – He is the treasure we desire above any and all things – and He can’t be taken from any of us – Then!!! We can live freely – leading others by the way we live… confirming what Scripture has said all along: “The person in right standing before God by trusting Him really lives.”
