Home in Him.
Ephesians 2:19-22 …This kingdom of faith is now your home country. You’re no longer strangers or outsiders. You belong here… God is building a home. He’s using us all – irrespective of how we got here – in what he is building. He used the apostles and prophets for the foundation. Now he’s using you, fitting you in brick by brick, stone by stone, with Christ Jesus as the cornerstone that holds all the parts together. We see it taking shape day after day – a holy temple built by God, all of us built into it, a temple in which God is quite at home.
It is a bit mind-blowing to reconcile the above verse with this next one from Revelation 21:21-27 The main street of the City was pure gold, translucent as glass. But there was no sign of a Temple, for the Lord God – the Sovereign-Strong – and the Lamb are the Temple…
He is bringing us all back Home, into himself by putting Himself in us. The Sovereign-Strong and the Lamb are the Temple and we are being fit together, each of us a ‘stone’, pieces coming together, unifying, through His Spirit in us.
No one abuses his own body, does he? No, he feeds and pampers it. That’s how Christ treats us, the church, since we are part of his body. -Ephesians 5:29
Incredible.
