Peace.

Meanwhile, Jesus was in Bethany at the home of Simon, a man who had previously had leprosy. While he was eating, a woman came in with a beautiful alabaster jar of expensive perfume made from essence of nard. She broke open the jar and poured the perfume over his head. Some of those at the table were indignant. “Why waste such expensive perfume?” they asked. “It could have been sold for a year’s wages and the money given to the poor!” So they scolded her harshly. But Jesus replied, “Leave her alone. Why criticize her for doing such a good thing to me?” -Mark‬ ‭14:3-6‬ (nlt)

In the Spanish (ntv) translation, ‘Leave her alone.’ translates to ‘Déjenla en paz.’… Leave her in peace.

I can’t imagine that the woman in this story came to Jesus worried and anxious. To the contrary, it appears this woman came to Jesus quite sure that He, Jesus, was worth everything and didn’t care a lick for what anyone else thought… and because she knew this and quite literally poured out her livelihood over His head, she had Peace. Can you imagine the peace she had with that kind of Surety and willingness to Live out that Surety? Her willingness to not hold anything back? And Jesus’ reply to her hecklers was, “Leave her in Peace.”

I want that kind of peace. Yes please.
