Glass Castles.
As Jesus was leaving the Temple that day, one of his disciples said, “Teacher, look at these magnificent buildings! Look at the impressive stones in the walls.” Jesus replied, “Yes, look at these great buildings. But they will be completely demolished. Not one stone will be left on top of another!” -Mark 13:1-2 (nlt)
Not one. When this is over, not one of our ‘glass castles’ will stand. Not one. And what makes something a ‘glass castle’? Any and every thing done with selfish intent. Right before the above verse, Jesus told His disciples the following: So Jesus called them together and said, “You know that the rulers in this world Lord it over their people, and officials flaunt their authority over those under them. But among you it will be different. Whoever wants to be a leader among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first among you must be the slave of everyone else. For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many.” -Mark 10:42-45 (nlt)
I am so much looking forward to the day when no bit of self, not even the slightest tinge, is left to muddle up my intentions and choices. To live perfectly free and unfettered in the arms of Our Loving Father, serving one another in Love. With this breath, I choose Him… The Best News of All is that the eternal can begin now.
