Only Through His Eyes.
Only through His eyes are we able to see with such clarity what is meant by the word unity. We fight, we judge, we squabble, not realizing the pain and hate we direct at each other, in the end, brings destruction to the whole entity, including ourselves. Jesus inerrantly displayed a type of Love that builds up instead of tears down – Love that is compassionate and understanding – looking to bring out the best in others while maintaining the courage to stay true to Him. It is so beautiful.
“No one abuses his own body, does he? No, he feeds and pampers it. That’s how Christ treats us, the church, since we are part of his body. And this is why a man leaves father and mother and cherishes his wife. No longer two, they become “one flesh.” This is a huge mystery, and I don’t pretend to understand it all. What is clearest to me is the way Christ treats the church. And this provides a good picture of how each husband is to treat his wife, loving himself in loving her, and how each wife is to honor her husband.” Ephesians 5:29-33 (msg)
There is something so beautiful about the upside down kingdom, where it is truly more blessed to give than receive. And it is not until we give up ourselves that we will be able to receive all that He wants to give us. The question always has been and always will be – do you trust Him? I pray my proclamation grows more sure everyday: With My Life!
