The Truth Will Set You Free.

John 8:31-32 If you remain faithful to my teaching, you will know the truth and the truth will set you free!

This is our verse this week at school. I love this verse. Bask in it with me for just a moment. Our youngest paraphrased it this way, “If you obey my teachings, you will know me and I will set you free!”

Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life.” John 14:6

God has been revealed to us through Jesus. John 1:17-18 This endless knowing and understanding – all this came through Jesus, the Messiah. No one had ever seen God, not so much as a glimpse. This one-of-a-kind God-Expression, who exists at the very heart of the Father, had made him plain as day.

And what a beautiful God we have! In knowing Him, we can rest in trusting Him. Simply doing what we ought to do and not doing what we ought not do. -George MacDonald  It’s a freeing moment when we realize that we have a Sovereign God of Love who has come to ‘take away the sin of the world.’

I realize now, this hasn’t always been the case, that some people simply don’t care whether they have a relationship with God… but I know our God and I know He loves them. He won’t give up on them, just like He doesn’t give up on me – He won’t leave them dead in their sin. But those who are here right now wanting to know Him better and draw closer… bask in the Truth and Freedom! Bask in knowing Him! It’s the little moments that make all the difference. Stay present. Abide sweetly and do in this moment what is Good. We are His!
